Resim 9. M.ö. 5. yüzyıl başlarından itibaren bir ada kenti olan Klazomenai’de M.ö. 4. yüzyıl ilk yarısında anakarada Khyton adlı bölgede yeni bir kent kurulur. Feride Gül Tarlası’nda yapılan çalışmalarda bu kentin düzenli bir dikdörtgen plan gösteren sivil yerleşim alanları açığa çıkarılmıştır. Kentteki evlerden birinde ele geçen 149 gümüş sikke içeren define, buluntu durumuna göre M.ö. 370-330 tarihleri arasında gömülmüş olmalıdır. Definedeki Klazomenai tetradrakhmilerinin bir yüzünde tanrı Apollon’un başı, diğer yüzünde kentin simgesi olan kuğu figürü yer alır. Sikkelerde kentin adı ile birlikte dönemin yöneticisinin adı da belirtilmiştir.

Figure 9. A new city was founded around a district called Chyton on the mainland in the Fourth Century B.C. at Clazomenae which was an island city from the beginning of the Fifth Century B.C. At the excavations in the Feride Gül Field, public quarters of a city designed by a rectangular plan was uncovered. A hoard, contained 149 silver coins, was found one of the houses of the city. The hoard must be buried between the years of 370-300 B.C. according to the finding stratum. On front side one of the Clazomenaean tetradrachmi in the hoard, the Apollo head, on back side of the coin the swan figure, the symbol of the city were carved. Apart from the name of the city, the name of the magistrate are emphaized on the coins.
